Summary:
Javier Arbizu, after a period of residence at the Center, makes the curatorial project “Talud mediodia”, within the framework of the Komisario Berriak program. A proposal showing what the works of artists Julián Pacomio, David Bestué and Claudia Rebeca Lorenzo have in common, whose practices are related to ideas of light and convergence.
As part of the Komisario Berriak programme driven by the Basque Government Culture and Linguistic Policy Department, Arbizu’s work begins with the dismantling of an iconic place in Bilbao, namely the Amusement Park of Artxanda, thus recovering the images of ‘slope’ and ‘midday’ to deal with the ideas of continuity and simultaneity from a sculptural and performative perspective.
‘Talud mediodía’ project dialogues with the Centre programme, particularly with the live and visual arts. The proposal also makes artists visible in different contexts, besides having in common many of the different work processes in programme linked to creation support programmes carried out in Lantegia. Laboratory of ideas.
