Summary:
Estudio Gheada perform the stage project El Mejor de los Mundos (EMDLM) for the first time. This project explores performance, video and the use of technology as a stage narrative.

With this performance, the audience is witness to the construction of an audiovisual self-portrait evolving live, responding to the experiences lived and narrated by the protagonist. Thus, a conversation takes place between the performer and the technology that helps her to create this self-portrait for an abstract, distant and external audience hidden behind the screens of their devices.
EMDLM explores topics related to establishing a personality within a society where this construction is no longer private. Rather, all choices, experiences and mistakes are public.
EMDLM is a multidiscipline project which started as an artistic installation in 2018 with a series of fragmented, distorted and often unconnected portraits hiding behind a so-called glibness, a certain existential tension inherent in a connected globalised world.
Sinopsis: A woman walks in the darkness of a theatre. As she walks, she takes stock of her life, a narration which will slowly become a self-portrait of herself, and by extension, her time.
In El Mejor de los Mundos we are witnesses to the live construction of this self-portrait through a conversation between the performer and the audio-visual tools she uses to portray herself and the historic moment she is living. With the aid of live camera feeds and pre-recorded loops the protagonist will build and describe her identity to create a portrait made for the remote consumption of “another” permanently connected.
