Parece Nada (Seems Like Nothing) is part of a series of creations by choreographer, dancer and actor Guillermo Weicker
Azkuna Zentroa presents Guillermo Weickert’s new work as part of Dantzaldia, the International Dance Festival organised by La Fundición. In this show we are invited to become the observers of our very own way of seeing, in an attempt to place the organ of perception (our eyes) into the object perceived (seen).
In his new work, Guillermo Weickert invites us to be observers of our own way of seeing things: an attempt to convert the sensory organ (the eyes) into what is perceived (seen). Starting from this simple observation (looking at what our eyes do) he proposes an exercise of re-examining the stage, its inhabitants and their movements as a testing ground for how we see the world.
Structured around the four parts of a general vision test (visual acuity, refraction, visual field and chromatic vision) and with the help of a television screen that continuously competes for the viewer’s attention, Parece Nada is, above all, an encounter between the creator and the viewer, a game, a journey into the labyrinth of individual perception, a taste for sharing the intimacy of looking and letting oneself be looked at in order to dissolve into the other as an encounter with oneself.
