Abstract

El artista Karlos Martínez pone en marcha el proyecto Plan K. Güt, un espacio discontinuo dedicado a la creación y presentación de proyectos de arte desde el que explorar la simultaneidad del ser físico y el ser virtual.<br>En este primer plan, se acompaña a la artista norteamericana Kara Güt en la presentación de <i>Intimacy Mod Live</i>, una acción performativa que se retransmite en vivo. La intérprete es sustituida por un proxy, invitando a las personas espectadoras a que interactúen a través de un chat. La actuación muestra a dos avatares involucrados, unidos por el magnetismo de sus bocas y confiando en la física del muñeco de trapo para ser lanzados en una coreografía en la que los cuerpos virtuales se contorsionan en abrazos imposibles y violentos. Con este trabajo, la artista plantea una serie de preguntas: la mediación a través del espacio digital, ¿nos aleja o acerca de la experiencia humana? La eliminación del cuerpo real, ¿lleva consigo nuestro sentido de humanidad o nos libera? Y, quizás en ausencia de un cuerpo real, ¿puede ocurrir un lenguaje de interpretación completamente nuevo; un modo alternativo de expresión no ligado a identidades físicas? Con eso en mente, ¿todavía se traducen la intimidad, el deseo, la sexualidad y el anhelo?

Artist Karlos Martínez has launched the Plan K. Güt project, a discontinuous space dedicated to the creation and presentation of art projects from which to explore the simultaneity of physical and digital beings.<br>In this first Plan, the North American artist Kara Güt presents her work <i>Intimacy Mode Live</i>, a performative action broadcast live, where requests are collected from the audience through a chat, and where the performer is replaced by a proxy. The performance shows two involved avatars joined by the magnetism of their mouths. They rely on the physical form of the rag doll, to be launched during a choreography where the virtual bodies contort themselves in impossible violent hugs. With this work the artist poses a series of questions: Does mediation through a digital space bring us closer or take us farther away from human experience? Does the elimination of a real body take with it our sense of humanity or does it release us? Perhaps, in the absence of a real body, is it possible for a totally new language of interpretation to come about, i.e. an alternative mode of expression unrelated to physical identities? And bearing that in mind, is intimacy, desire, sexuality and yearning still.
