Summary:
Baso bidaiariak / Bosques viajeros is a prototype linear forest designed for public space. The project proposes the installation of a linear arboretum, that diagonally intersects the space of Azkuna Zentroa’s rooftop terrace, as a garden for public use.

It is framed within the "Arbolado para calles, imperios y paraísos" series, a project that the artist began during his stay in Rome, in which he creates patterns and models of tree alignments, making stories based on the history of trees and the context.

Baso bidaiariak / Bosques viajeros focuses on the history of trees in the Basque Country, some of them originating from native forests, others imported from other places. The lineup is made up of oaks (quercus robur), beech (fagus sylvatica), ash (fraxinus excelsior), palm (washingtonia robusta) and pine (pinus insignis).

Baso bidaiariak / Bosques viajeros highlights the importance of trees in the evolution of our history and asks about our relationship and current practices.
