One night at the golden bar

Abstract

El performer, director de escena y dramaturgo Alberto Cortés presenta su última creación <i>One night at the golden bar</i>, una declaración cantada que «pone en evidencia la vulnerabilidad del cuerpo que ama en permanente tensión entre el discurso queer y el romántico», en palabras del autor. </p>

Cortés escribe un nuevo capítulo de ese relato escénico y en muchos casos autoficcional que viene desarrollando en los últimos años. En este caso, "desde el imaginario de la figura celestial del ángel se atraviesa una lluvia de cuestiones: qué masculinidad nos gobierna, qué fragilidades y grietas no se están mencionando, qué identidades están en un lugar vulnerable y monstruoso al mismo tiempo, cómo cantar al destino que nos aplasta.Un cántico que persigue un estado de vulnerabilidad que ponga en evidencia el poder de los afectos y la belleza que se esconde en la fragilidad. Revelar qué identidades están en un lugar vulnerable y monstruoso al mismo tiempo y cómo vamos a proteger a estos cuerpos cuando griten públicamente cómo se sienten cuando aman".<br>

<i>One night at the golden bar</i>, que remite a la canción de Mecano La fuerza del destino, sobre el encuentro irremisible de una pareja en un bar, habla, desde una mirada queer, de esas historias que se originan en estos lugares, de las identidades de género y de las múltiples manifestaciones del amor.

Azken urteetan garatzen ari den kontakizun eszeniko horren beste kapitulu bat idatzi du Cortések, askotan autofikziokoa dena. Alberto Cortés, performer, stage director and playwright, presents his latest creation <i>One night at the golden bar</i>, a sung statement which, quoting the author, “reveals the vulnerability of a body which loves in permanent tension trapped between queer and romantic discourse.”</p>

Cortés writes a new chapter in this stage and in many cases auto-fictional narrative which he has been evolving in recent years. In this instance, he does so “from the imaginarium of the celestial figure of the angel journeying through a flood of questions, such as what kind of masculinity rules us, what fragilities and cracks are not being mentioned, what kinds of identity are found in a vulnerable monstrous place at the same time, and how can we sing to that destiny which crushes us underfoot. It is a song that pursues a state of vulnerability that highlights the power of affection and the beauty hidden in fragility. The aim is to reveal which identities are in a vulnerable and monstrous place at the same time and how are we going to protect such bodies when they publicly shout out loud how they feel when they love somebody.”<br>

<i>One night at the golden bar</i> refers to a song by Mecano “The force of fate” (La fuerza del destino), about the unforgivable encounter of couple in a bar, talking from a queer angle, about those stories which arise in places like that, about gender identities and multiple forms of love.
