Museum Traces

Abstract

<p>A través de la serie fotográfica <i>Museum Traces</i> el artista Ramón Williams muestra el trance de montaje y desmontaje de obras en un museo, desvelando las huellas que dejan los proyectos y que habitualmente no puede observar el público. </p> <p>Son fotografías que, si bien ocupan las paredes de la caja blanca, no forman parte de ninguna exposición. Comparte así paredes que parecen tiroteadas y ventanas que invitan a salirse del espacio cerrado del arte. Deja ver las medidas de obras que ya no están y de otras por venir. Escribe, sobre la pared, relatos de piezas que son tan verdaderos como ficticios, tan permanentes como efímeros.</p> <p>De ocupar como artista algunas salas de esos museos, Williams pasa en esta serie a ocuparse, como trabajador, de afrontarlo desde la otra orilla, mostrando allí donde esas obras dejan sus improntas menos luminosas antes y después de las exposiciones.</p>

Horrela, ikusgai jartzen dituen paretak tirokatuta daudela ematen du eta leihoek gonbit egiten dute artearen espazio itxitik irtetera. Agerian uzten ditu jada ez dauden eta etortzeko dauden obren neurriak. <p>Through the <i>Museum Traces</i> photographic series, artist Ramón Williams displays the trance of assembling and disassembling works in a museum, uncovering the traces left by the projects which generally cannot be seen by the public.</p> <p>These photographs occupy the walls of the white box but are not part of any exhibition. In this way, he shares walls that appear to look fired upon and windows that invite us to leave the closed space of art. He reveals the measurements of works which are no longer there and of other works to come. On the wall he writes stories of pieces which are as real as they are fictitious, as permanent as they are ephemeral.</p> <p>From occupying, as an artist, some of the rooms of these museums, in this series Williams takes on the task, as a worker, of addressing the issue from the other side, revealing where these works leave their less luminous traces before and after the exhibitions.</p>
