Description:
Does a like represent you? Does the amount of likes or followers that you acquire in social networks define you? What is the price of a Like? Where is the boundary between reality and the digital? Núria Guiu, a dancer and choreographer from Barcelona, presents in Azkuna Zentroa the piece Likes, a vindication of the body to body vis-à-vis the intoxication of Internet.
The work Likes bases itself on the analysis of two popular Youtube phenomena: cover dance tutorials and videos on the different techniques of yoga which have emerged and spread massively through social networks during the recent years.
The artist approaches the audience from a socio-anthropological perspective with a speech about the social value of a like in our digital culture and society. The piece is a fresh and choreographic look at the presence of the body in the digital age.
