First cycle of mediation related to some essential American, European, Manga and Spanish figures in the world of comic figures takes place in the Komikteka activation process. In these sessions the usual audience of adult readers and newcomers can converse and reflect on the work of different graphic novel creators.

  • #01. Hugo Pratt. “La balada del mar salado” (07/10/2021) - This session will center on the figure of Hugo Pratt, one of the great graphic illustrators, and Corto Maltese, one of the most memorable characters in the entire history of comics.

  • #02. Will Eisner. “Contrato con Dios” (28/10/2021) - Conversation about Will Eisner, a reference in the graphic novel, and about his work "Contract with God": daily stories that take place in a suburb of New York.

  • #03. Carlos Giménez. “Paracuellos” (18/11/2021) - Meeting about the graphic author Carlos Giménez and his work "Paracuellos". Autobiographical and considered one of the cartoonist’s best work, the novel talks about the education of orphans in the Spanish postwar period.
