MIRADOR centro de investigación is a fictional space, an invisible construct developed
within the urban public space of Bilbao. After months of observation and work within the
surveillance booth at the Town Hall Bridge and its surrounding area, the artist proposes
writing and public intervention as the means to performing a new place that takes the
form of a research center for the gaze.
Through a published pocket ‘practical guide’ and a light-sound intervention into the area
of the City Council Bridge, Camila invites us to inhabit the city from different and unusual
perspectives, in which the sense of the body’s location is fundamental to rethinking ‘what
we are looking at and how we look’.
This ‘practical guide’* is available from Azkuna Zentroa (AzShop), Baobab Bar Tetería
(Calle del Príncipe 1) and Farmacia Uriarte Goiricelaya (Carnicería Vieja 15).
