Azkuna Zentroa presents the work of artist Jaime Refoyo under its Live Arts programme. This "geographer of thought" will offer a workshop on Geococo, the method he has developed to work mobility starting from a bodily created drawing.

Geococo (Geography of Corporal Awareness) is a method created by Jaime Refoyo to work mobility starting from a bodily created drawing.
Its origin lies in the author’s pictoric and cognitive work. In pictoric terms, they are perfect straight lines and curves created using a freehand technique based on the control of the body and the space surrounding it. In terms of ideas, straight lines form a geography of the foundations of human body language based on the corporeality of symbols.
The execution of said lines requires attention, fine and gross motor co-ordination, response inhibition, estimation of time and space, sequencing of motor patterns, visuospatial analysis and memory, metacognition and awareness of body position in space.
In the Geococo workshop, students will develop artistic creativity and aesthetic analysis capacity via the shapes created during the session.
