The second Behatokia encounter moves to the Ribera Market to tackle the food crisis and urban design.
Nowadays, food has come to occupy an important place in the media, political agenda and public sphere. The protection of rural spaces, fostering urban agriculture, growth of agro-ecological consumer co-operatives, increase in local producer markets in public spaces, and the demand of food markets to not only be areas of socialisation but also of access to local consumption, are merely some of the symptoms of a cultural, political and urban dispute.
All these matters, likewise the influence of food in urban design and several art and cultural projects which deal with the relationship between city and food, will be discussed at the next Behatokia encounter.
Participants: Lilian Weikert from the La Plasita collective and Santos Bregaña.
In collaboration with Bilbao Zerbitzuak.
