Abstract

Partiendo de la importancia de la luz para mejorar el estado de ánimo y la salud mental de las personas, Grimanesa Amorós propone <i>Scientia</i> para propiciar momentos de autorreflexión y realización personal.<p></p> La pieza se plantea como "un medio para acceder a nuestro yo emocional, proporcionando un espacio mental manifestado para nutrir la autorrealización y promover el compromiso de la comunidad".<p></p> Esta instalación <i>site specific</i> se enmarca en el programa artístico que acompaña el primer congreso internacional <a href=" https://wellbeing-project.org/summit-2022-highlights/" target="_blank"> The Wellbeing Summit for Social Change </a> que se celebra en Bilbao del 1 al 3 de junio de 2022 y que aborda el cambio social y comunitario, a través de la acción colectiva.<br> El Programa de Artes de la Cumbre, cuenta con más de una docena de propuestas artísticas en espacios culturales como Azkuna Zentroa. Es el caso de <i>Scientia</i> el <i>site specific</i> creado por la artista Grimanesa Amorós para el Atrio, <i>Remember this: the lesson of Jan Karski</i>, una pieza teatral en torno a la figura de Jan Karski, destacado activista contra el Holocausto, y la acción performativa <i>Ancestors of the blue moon</i> de la artista Himali Singh Soin.

Starting from the importance of light to improve the mood and mental health of people, Grimanesa Amorós proposes <i>Scientia</i> to promote moments of self-reflection and personal fulfillment.<p></p> The piece is proposed as “a means to access our emotional self, providing a manifested mental space to nurture self-realization and promote community engagement.”<p></p> This <i>site-specific</i> installation is part of the artistic programme that accompanies the first international congress <a href=" https://wellbeing-project.org/summit-2022-highlights/" target="_blank"> The Wellbeing Summit for Social Change </a>that is held in Bilbao from June 1 to 3, 2022 and that addresses social and community change, through collective action.<br> The Summit Arts Programme includes over a dozen artistic proposals in cultural spaces, such as Azkuna Zentroa. This is the case of <i>Scientia</i>, the <i>site specific</i> created by the artist Grimanesa Amorós for the Atrium, <i>Remember this: the lesson of Jan Karski</i>, a theatre piece revolving around the figure of Jan Karski, an important activist against the Holocaust and the performative action <i>Ancestors of the blue moon</i> by the artist Himali Singh Soin.
