Notes on Working from Home

Abstract

<i>Notes on Working from Home</i> es una instalación de Laida Lertxundi y Ren Ebel que reflexiona sobre la vida doméstica como material fundamental para la práctica artística.<p></p> La instalación se compone de una selección de obras de cine, vídeo y arte sonoro, proyectadas en bucle en el auditorio, además de una muestra de textos e imágenes de artistas que han utilizado las labores invisibles y ordinarias de la vida diaria como parte integral de su trabajo.<p></p> El proyecto culmina con la proyección de la pieza <i>Notes on Working from Home</i>, una presentación de metraje en bruto y sin editar de la película en curso, cuyo ritmo y secuencia se entregarán al azar.<p></p> <i>Notes on Working from Home</i> es un proyecto vinculado a la película <i>Working from Home</i> que Ren Ebel y Laida Lertxundi están produciendo con Doxa Producciones.

Laida Lertxundik eta Ren Ebelek egindako <i>Notes on Working from Home</i> instalazioan gogoeta jorratzen da etxeko bizitzari buruz, praktika artistikorako funtsezko material gisa hartuta.<p></p> Instalazioak zinemako, bideoko eta soinu-arteko hainbat lan ditu, Azkuna Zentroko auditoriumean begiztan proiektatuak, bai eta artisten testu eta irudien lagin bat ere (Chantal Akerman, Mierle Ladermen Ukeles, Sophie Calle, Kenneth Tam, Grace Paley eta William Wegman barne), eguneroko lanaren zati ikusezin eta ohikoak euren lanaren atal integral gisa erabili dituztenak.<p></p> Proiektua amaitzeko, <i>Notes on Working from Home</i> pieza proiektatuko da, metraje landugabean eta editatu gabeko bi kanaletan egingo den aurkezpen batean; filmaren erritmoa eta sekuentzia, ausaz emango dira.

<i>Notes on Working from Home</i> is an audiovisual programme and installation by artist film makers Laida Lertxundi and Ren Ebel, that reflects on domestic life as a fundamental subject and source for artistic practice.<p></p> The installation consists of selected moving-image and sound works shown in a repeating program, and an arrangement of texts and images by various artists and writers who have used the unseen and unextraordinary labors of daily life as an integral part of their work.<p></p> On the final day of the exhibition, we will host a screening of <i>Notes on Working from Home</i>, a presentation of raw, unedited footage from the in-progress film, whose rhythm and sequence will be left to chance and circumstance.
