Grimanesa Amorós (Lima, Perú) lives and works in New York. An interdisciplinary artist, her interests include social history, scientific research and critical theory.
The direct relationship with technology is one of the distinctive features of Amorós work, who makes use of sculpture, video and lighting to create works that illuminate the notion of personal identity and community. Her work has been internationally recognized with awards such as the X Tumi USA Award (Miami, FL) and the artists residency scholarship from Art Omi (Columbia County, NY).
