Blanca Ortiga, (Hornos de Moncalvillo, La Rioja, 1984) is an artist and contemporary art researcher whose practice is located at the contact point between sculpture and performativity. She has presented her work individually and collectively at Matadero (Madrid, 2022), Festival Actual (La Rioja, 2022), Instar International Festival (Cuba, 2021), Tetuán Modern Art Museum (Morocco, 2019), Galería Jorge Alcolea (Madrid, 2018), AFO Architekturforum Oberösterreich (Austria, 2017), Montehermoso Cultural Centre (Gasteiz, 2016) and Teatros del Canal (Madrid, 2015), among others.
She has held residencies at Huarte (Navarre), Arragua (Lekeitio), Altes Finances (Berlin) and Laboral Centro de Arte (Gijón), among others.
She was selected for the Iberlending Awards (2018), the Montehermoso Exhibition Programme (2017), La Rioja Government Young Art 3rd Prize (2017) and Injuve (2016). She is currently a member of the UPV/EHU Fine Arts Faculty Department of Sculpture.
