Arrazola, Txaro (1963- )

Fine Arts Graduate from the University of the Basque Country (1983-1988). MFA from New York State University, SUNY at Purchase College (1996- 1998). PhD in Fine Arts via UPV/EHU (2012). She began with painting and subsequently undertook a multidisciplinary practice with a social perspective. Her works have been exhibited at Vanguardia Gallery (Bilbao), Pedro Modesto Campos Foundation (Tenerife), Kunstarkaden Der Stadt (Munich), Arteko Gallery (San Sebastián), as well as at collective exhibitions like ‘Art Heals the World’ (New York, 2001) ‘Strangers in Paradise’ (Beijing, China 2007 and Tokyo, Japan 2008), ‘La Mirada Iracunda’ (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2008), ‘Image Talks’ (Hasselt, Belgium 2015), and VSC (Vermont, USA 2017).

She has been a member of the Basque feminist collective Plataforma A since 2012, which performs actions in public for the equal rights of artists and art professionals. Since 2017 she is the spokesperson for MAV (Mujeres en las Artes Visuales - Women in the Visual Arts).
