Oscar Gómez Mata (Donostia, 1963) lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland. Actor, director, author and set designer, his work in the theatre began in Spain in 1987 when he co-founded Legaleón-T, a company with which he created shows until 1996. In 1997 he founded in Geneva the company L’Alakran, acting as director, creator and playwright for various works. Since 2013 he has been a regular professor at Manufacture - the French Swiss School of Theatre (HETSR).

During his residency at Azkuna Zentroa and together with Esperzan López he has created Catálogo de derivas. This catalogue proposes various wanderings or walks aimed at observing and exploring everyday urban landscapes. Both artists are currently working on the creation of a notebook with a compilation of the proposed wanderings. Those who wish to experience some of these walks can request them from AZ Info.

Morever, in April 2021 Oscar Gómez Mata will premiere his performance piece Makers in collaboration with the actor Juan Loriente, created during his residence at the Centre in 2020. Makers is a work about light, time and love.
