She was born in Bayonne in 1959 and published her first poem in the French Basque weekly Herria in 1974. From that time onward, she has never stopped writing and publishing.
She has worked in the majority of literary genres, and currently writes the daily column Bira in the Berria newspaper. She has dedicated 6 books to the adventures of the rural lesbian detective Amaia Ezpeldoi. She received the Euskadi Award for her novel “100% Basque” (Susa) in 2002. She is also a translator, and has translated into Basque Maria Merçé Marçal´s poetry, among other authors. She takes part in numerous projects, most recently alongside the musician Ibon RG and the musician-poets of the Bordeaux Orchestre Maigre.
