Brieva, Miguel (1974-)
Cartoonist, writer and music lover, Miguel Brieva has focused much of his work on the social, political and anthropological criticism of the current model of beliefs - capitalism - and its human and ecosystemic unsustainability.
ince his first self-published publications, such as magazine Dinero (2002), the review of the myths and dogmas to which modern society is subject has been a constant theme in his production. However, since his involvement and militancy in the ecological movement, he has moved from political satire to the more suggestive production of new alternative and possible imaginaria.
He has worked as an illustrator and cartoonist for media such as El Jueves, El País, La Vanguardia, Rolling Stone, Cinemanía, El Salto and Mondo Brutto. He is the author of the following books: “Bienvenido al mundo”, “Dinero”, “El otro mundo”, “Memorias de la Tierra”, “Lo que me está pasando”, “La gran aventura humana”, “La vida La muerte”, “Obras incompletas de Marcz Doplacié”, “Manuela y los Cakirukos”, and “Se busca un futuro posible en el que desear vivir”. His illustrations are featured in books such as “La odisea Ilustrada” by Carmen Estrada, “Al final”, by Silvia Nanclares, and “Ecotopías” by several other authors.
