Ninguna noche en llamas is a multidisciplinary project that encompasses video installation, sculpture and writing.
Addressed the construction of stories, the narrative mechanisms of history, the idea of transformation through language, and the images that are passed down and replicated in different eras.
Via different stories conversing with fire, the artist works on an “overflowing film” reflecting on: looking and listening, the connections between places and times, likewise the narrative potential of fictions.
According to Abel Jaramillo “A fire is a game between the story and image, thus that fire which has not time is fiction, i.e. the fire which is all fires, like in Cortázar, a hybrid space to think about the frontier between text and image, an event in the scene, the story in another voice, two different fires which coexist, a story which didn’t exist yet occurs. A film like a fire that is 1 and 15 thousand.”
The result is displayed in Lantegia between December 4th, 2024 and January 12th, 2025.
