Summary:
MARTXAUNDI II is a walking march. It departs from Azala (Lasierra, Araba) on May 28 to reach Azkuna (Bilbao) on June 1, crossing valleys, mountains, paths, rivers, tracks, roads, streets, squares and sidewalks.

Walking, sweating, listening, chatting, breathing, tasting, noting, irradiating, looking, observing, otear and deliverar are some of the verbs that will accompany us. Crossing slopes and rivers, flattening a plain, looking for springs, going up and down slopes, finding the shortest way, smearing cream, removing ticks, bathing in a river, deciding where to sleep, preparing the fire, pitching tents, sheltering from the rain, cooking, washing dishes, sleeping under the open sky, counting stars, continuing the path, looking for the smallest slope, having a snack, having a drink and enjoying a concert are some of the actions that will accompany us.
Walking through valleys is like wandering, but it is not the same. Wandering can resemble disorientation. Walking and wandering share a volatile attention, although flying too much carries the risk of losing one's way and ending up wandering aimlessly through beech, oak, oak and pine forests. The image of the road becomes a line on the horizon, joyful, and the luxury of living the present with all its verb tenses.
In June 2016 we made the almost inverse route, in the middle of the solstice and with a full moon. We started from Bulegoa z/b (Bilbao) to reach Azala and eat sardines. On that occasion we were a group of 6 people, plus some who joined the first stage, the most urban. This time we will be a dozen and we hope to be accompanied by another hundred people in our last stage, on June 1, also the most urbanized, from Llodio to Bilbao, bordering the Pagasarri.
Along the route, we will tune in to radio stations that will broadcast what we tell them each day, depending on which way the wind is blowing and the antennas.
