Azala
Azala is a space for creation, experimentation, training and artistic residencies located in the village of Lasierra in Alava. Since 2008, the 11 inhabitants of Lasierra have been joined by all the people who have inhabited Azala in its different forms, species, subspecies and nationalities: artists, researchers, cultural mediators, curators, educators and activists. Some of the working axes of the space are corporeality, performativity, word, language, voice, image, materiality, sound, rural and territory. In 2017, Azala received the Gure Artea award from the Basque Government in recognition of its work in the field of the arts over the course of a decade.
