Alejandro Jodorowsky and Moebius: "El Incal"

This edition deals with the work of the tandem made up of Jean Giraud, aka Moebius, the work cartoonist, and Alejandro Jodorowsky, the comics writer. "El Incal" is a science fiction masterpiece of epic adventures. Like all the works written by Jodorowsky, it is full of oneiric moments and mysticism, with references to the Tarot and poetry.

Art Spiegelman: “Maus: relato de un superviviente”

Art Spiegelman, an author who is still active, became a reference in the world of comic at the beginning of the 80s, for both his own work and his work as an editor.

Kazuo Koike; Goseki Kojima: "Lone Wolf and Cub"(v.1)

This edition of the "Essential Comic Dialogues" is dedicated to the productive tandem of Kazuo Koike, as comic writer, and Goseki Kojima, as cartoonist, from 1970 to the end of the 80s, and their first work ‘Lone Wolf and Cub’.

Miguel Gallardo:"María y yo" (v.1)

Miguel Gallardo is an important Spanish comic writer born in Lleida who lives and works in Barcelona. He is a key figure of the 80s underground movement. In "María y yo" Miguel Gallardo takes his readers on holiday together with his 12 year old daughter María, on a trip full of affection, some happy moments and a lot of fun, portraying the day-to-day situations which can be disconcerting when experienced with an autistic child.

Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons: “Watchmen”

This edition of must-sees will be dedicated to the artist duo of Alan Moore as scriptwriter and Dave Gibbons as illustrator and their joint work Watchmen.

Marjane Satrapi: “Persepolis”

This edition of the must-sees stars the Iranian artist Marjane Satrapi with her first work "Persepolis". Is an autobiographical work which begins in the final moments of the Shah’s regime. Through the eyes of a young girl it narrates the difficulties of living under a theocratic State.

Jiro Taniguchi: “The Wayfarer”

This must-see session is dedicated to Jiro Taniguchi, the realistic style and poetic tone mangaka (comic artist or cartoonist) who excelled in adult “slice of life” comics. He was considered a key author in the dissemination of manga in Europe due to his style, which was akin to that of French comics.

Paco Roca: “La casa”

Francisco Martínez Roca, known as Paco Roca, is the star of this edition of the Essential Comics. This work, which is clearly autobiographical in nature, follows three brothers who return to the family home where they grew up a year after their father’s death with the intention of putting it on the market. With a deceptively simple appearance and a narrative replete with sensitivity, Paco Roca discusses in a poignant manner the passing of time and how painful it is to say goodbye.
