Dr. Bojana Pejic is an art historian. She
was born in 1948 in Belgrade. She has
been writing about contemporary art since
1970. Between 1977 and 1991 she was
curator at the Student Cultural Centre of
Belgrade University.
Since 1991 she has been living in Berlin.
She has written about Marina Abramovic,
Valie Export, Jochen Gerz and Sanja
Iveković. Her texts are theoretical articles
and are published in, amongst other countries, Germany, Austria, Poland Japan and
Great Britain. In May 2005 she defended
her doctoral thesis entitled ‘The Communist
Body: policy of representation and specialization of RFS power in Yugoslavia (1945-
1991)’ at Carl von Ossietzky University in
Germany. She has been invited lecturer
at Humboldt University, Berlin (2003), the
Institute of Cultural Studies, Oldenburg
University, Germany (2006/2007) and
Central Europe University (Gender
Studies), Budapest (winter 2013).
She recently curated the international
exhibition entitled ‘Good Girls_ Memory,
Desire, Power’, at the Contemporary Art
Museum(MNAC) ; Bucharest (20th June29th September 2013).
