She holds a degree in Fine Arts specialising in Painting and Engraving (UPV/EHU) and has worked in the fields of painting, electrographic media, computerized image-processing, and photography.
In her works, Rueda has explored what remains hidden, how we project ourselves, appearances, what is true and what is false, the fragmentary representation of human beings, and the feminine perspective.
She has recently published “Hitz politak” (Sonia Rueda, 2022) in which she gives book form to the notebook where for years she has noted down Basque expressions full of sensitivity and poetry, to which she has added evocative images that bring out the richness of the visual and written language of the Basque tongue.
