- Alberdi, Uxue (1984- )
Uxue Alberdi (Elgoibar, 1984) is a writer and bertsolari (verse improviser, in Basque).
She is the author of two books of short stories —“Aulki bat elurretan”, Elkar, 2007; “Euli-giro”, Susa, 2013—; two novels —”Aulki-jokoa”, Elkar, 2009 (translated into Spanish with the title El juego de las sillas); “Jenisjoplin”, Susa, 2017 (111 Akademia Award)—; an essay —”Kontrako eztarritik”, Lisipe-Susa, 2019 (Euskadi Prize)—; and a literary chronicle: “Dendaostekoak”, Susa, 2020. She has also published several children’s books and the albums “Poza” and “Besarkada” (2016 Euskadi Prize), among others. Her narrative works have been published in Spanish by the Consonni publishing house (“Jenisjoplin” and “La trastienda”) and by Reikiavik Ediciones (the essay “Reverso: testimonios de mujeres bertsolaris”). Likewise, she has translated the anthology of poems by Alfonsina Storni for the Munduko Poesia “Kaierak”, Susa, 2017 collection.
