Flemish artist Lore Stessel (Belgium) explores the relationship between photography and painting.
To do so, she manipulates her analogue printing process in the darkroom, painting the canvases beforehand with a light-sensitive emulsion and then pouring the developer over certain areas. Thus, the painter and photographer’s gesture meet and influence each other.
The Etxepare Basque Institute supports the Flemish artist Lore Stessel in the Azkuna Zentroa Associated Artists programme, within the framework of their Vlaanderen-Baskenland project.
