Anjel Lertxundi (Orio, Gipuzkoa, 1948) holds a BA and is a prolific writer, literary critic, journalist and scriptwriter. He is one of the founders of the Basque Writers’ Association.
He is a Member of Euskaltzaindia (Royal Academy of the Basque Language) and chiefly writes narratives (novel and stories) likewise essays. According to critics, his novel Otto Pette (The Last Shadows) is his best work. His most recent publications are Itzuliz usu begiak (Sombras en el espejo, 2019) and Desertuan Behatxuloa (2022).
He has been awarded the BBK Gutun Zuria Bilbao 2023 prize, in the form of an honorary makila.
