Jiménez Landa, Fermín
Fermín Jiménez Landa’s work encompasses actions, videos, photography, objects, installations and public interventions. As a rule, his work is based on situations and narratives where the boundary between the most empirical reality and the unlikeliest anecdote is blurred. In his actions there is a minimal intervention of reality and a facetious analysis of everyday rituals. These are small temporary situations which are often condensed in objects, signs and documentation of any kind. He produces works where sometimes the impalpable becomes palpable or moves from the particular to the universal and vice versa. He is very interested in the shared, rumours, humour, starting from a field of possibilities as wide as possible, and he is rarely interested in very finished and very virtuous objects. He has exhibited at the Manifesta 11 Biennial, MAZ Zapopan, Artium, MUSAC, CA2M and Oteiza museums, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Centro Botín, La Casa Encendida and art galleries such as Moisés Pérez de Albéniz, Travesía Cuatro, Nogueras Blanchard and Angels Barcelona. He has worked with Consonni, 1646 in The Hague and HIAP in Helsinki.
