López Carrasco is a filmmaker and writer, and co-founder of the "Los Hijos" audiovisual collective. His work as a director has been screened at many international festivals and contemporary arts centres.
His latest film, “El año del descubrimiento” (2020), premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and has won numerous national and international awards, including the Goya Awards for best documentary film and best editing. In 2023 he won the Herralde Novel Prize for his work “El desierto blanco” (Anagrama, 2023). He currently works as a professor at the University of Castile-La Mancha.
