In this workshop, former teacher and writer Miren Billelabeitia, recipient of the Euskadi Prize for Literature in the Basque-language essay category, shares with students the importance of reading as a means of developing independent and critical thinking.

AITITA-amamen guda zibila (Erein, 2019) is based on the reading discussion methodology she has used in recent years. The workshop explores the development of this historical memory project, created in collaboration with students from the Mungia secondary school. The book is a compilation of stories about the Spanish Civil War as recounted by the grandparents (aitites and amamas) of the 15-year-old students.
To participate in the activity, reading the book Aitita-amamen guda zibila is recommended. A copy will be sent to those groups confirming their attendance at the workshop.
