What is energy? What is its relationship to nature? This workshop analyses energy creation as a natural process, but also as a contamination process among species. The creation of nuclear energy is linked to a failed idea of progress, inherited from World War II.
When the Lemoiz nuclear power station project was abandoned in 1984, nature’s entropy began its arduous task of returning the concrete covered territory back to its original state.
Based on the herbarium created with the plants occupying the old power station, this workshop analyses their capacity to convert light into energy. The plants capture sunlight via photosynthesis and chlorophyll to convert it into chemical energy, essential for their growth and the ecosystem.
