Abstract

<b><i>Envoltura, historia y síncope</i></b> parte de las circunstancias que rodearon el fallecimiento de Antonia Mercé y Luque, La Argentina (1890-1936), bailarina de danza popular y flamenco, y primera artista condecorada por la Segunda República Española. Su convulsión física, sufrida abruptamente el 18 de julio de 1936, se entiende aquí en correlato al sentimiento colectivo del momento, como reflejo de un quiebro en la línea de la historia. Este quiebro se repite en distintos momentos a través de artistas como el japonés Kazuo Ohno, quien recupera la figura de La Argentina cincuenta años después de haberla visto bailar.</br> Esta conferencia performativa se presenta por primera vez en Bilbao coincidiendo con la publicación del libro homónimo en Caniche editorial. El texto propone un recorrido afectivo que explora cómo el movimiento es transferido de un cuerpo a otro, y cómo en la tentativa de fijarlo aparecen imágenes, trazos, dibujos y ritmos.

Antonia Mercé y Luque, La Argentina (1890-1936), herri-dantzako eta flamenkoko dantzaria izan zen Espainiako Bigarren Errepublikak kondekoratu zuen lehen artista. 1936ko uztailaren 18an konbultsio fisikoa izan zuen bat-batean, eta, liburuan, une hartako sentimendu kolektiboarekin jartzen da erlazioan, historiaren lerroan izandako pitzaduraren isla gisa. Pitzadura hori hainbat unetan errepikatu da, esaterako, Kazuo Ohno artista japoniarraren eskutik, dantzan ikusi eta berrogeita hamar urtera berreskuratu baitzuen La Argentinaren irudia.</br> Hitzaldi performatibo hau Bilbon aurkeztuko da lehen aldiz, Caniche argitaletxeak izen bereko liburua argitaratzearekin batera. <b><i>Envoltura, historia y síncope</i></b> arises from the circumstances surrounding the death of Antonia Mercé y Luque, La Argentina (1890-1936), flamenco and folk dancer, who was the first artist to be decorated by the Second Spanish Republic. Her physical death, which occurred suddenly on 18th July, 1936 is understood here in relation to the collective feeling of the times, as a reflection of a fracture in the line of history. This fracture is repeated at different times through artists like the Japanese Kazuo Ohno, who recovers the figure of La Argentina 50 years later after having watched her dance.</br> This performative conference makes its Bilbao debut coinciding with the publication of the book with the same name by Caniche. The text proposes an affectionate journey exploring how movement is transferable from one body to another and how images, outlines, drawings and rhythms appear in the attempt to anchor it.
