Art installations - Summary:
ERAS is a poem that, during the transit to its conclusion, takes on an installation format comprising drawings, images, book covers, some objects and text.
The poem started by singing to the boat, river, desire, waves and sea, to finish by writing as someone jumping over the cracks which open during an earthquake. Violent events are what build up the fantasy, to later tear it down when the time comes (or perhaps, incapable of consoling its voracity, the fantasy devours itself).
The installation travels through the poem along two roads as if it were a volcanic island. The documentary or even autobiographical road is the coastal one running around the island from north to south. Whoever wants to “see” the poem (not read but see it) will encounter innumerable occasions to stop and enjoy the beautiful views of the sea, cliffs, small beaches, villages, and effigy of the volcano at all times. Whereas whoever wants to “read” the installation (not see but read it), will take the other route, which I would call the Strombolian one, and climb up to the very crest of the crater. In this area the signals are weak, broken, the remains of an old popular tale about a two-headed swan, an implosion along with a rare flower that seemingly grows at the top of the volcano.”
The exhibition was presented within the framework of Gutun Zuria 2024.
