Abstract

</p><b>La Ilíada a través del rap y la cultura hip-hop.</b> </p>La última creación del coreógrafo Gaston Core es una relectura de la epopeya griega "Ilíada" desde la contemporaneidad, reconvertida en una batalla de rap.<br>Pienso que la "Ilíada" es ante todo la confrontación entre una sociedad determinada con el sistema de valores de un mundo que le precedió, legendario y heroico. Y por otro lado es la historia de un hombre que se enfrenta a sí mismo para acabar asumiendo la función que cumple en ese grupo y que le da sentido como individuo. La lectura de este texto es siempre nostálgica. Y esta es una de las muchas cosas que nos siguen conectando a él: esa mirada perpleja ante un mundo que se nos escapa y que imaginamos mejor que el que vendrá. ¿Pero cómo explicar la Ilíada?<br>Su importancia en la Historia, la modernidad de sus recursos narrativos y de los temas que trata, y sobre todo, cómo transmitir en una hora de performance la fuerza que tiene la palabra en este texto, de qué manera con ella se dignifica al otro para dignificarse uno mismo. Creo que la mejor manera es explicarlo a través de nuestros artistas contemporáneos de la palabra: los rappers. Eso es esta pieza: una mirada escénica y una reflexión estética a la obra fundacional de la literatura occidental mediante el lenguaje del rap y de la cultura hip-hop.</p>

</p><b>Iliada, rap eta hip-hop kulturaren bidez.</b></p>Uste dut “Iliada”, batez ere, gizarte jakin baten eta bere aurreko mundu legendazko eta heroiko baten balio-sistemaren arteko konfrontazioa dela. Eta, bestetik, bere buruari aurre egiten dion gizon baten istorioa da, zeinak azkenean talde horretan betetzen duen funtzioa bere gain hartzen duen, horrek zentzua ematen baitio gizabanako gisa. Testu horren irakurketa nostalgikoa da beti. </p><b>The Iliad through rap and hip-hop culture.</b></p>I think that the “Iliad” is, above all, the confrontation between a certain society and the value system of a legendary and heroic world that preceded it. On the other hand, it is also the story of a man who challenges himself to assume the functions he is called to fulfil in that group and which give him meaning as an individual. Reading this text is always nostalgic. And this is one of the many things that continue to connect us to it: the puzzled look at a world that is slipping away from us and that we imagine is better than the one that is to come. But how can we explain the Iliad?<br>Its importance in history, the modernity of its narrative resources and the themes it addresses, but above all, how to convey the power of the words in this text in a one-hour performance, how it dignifies the other in order to dignify oneself. I think the best way to explain it is through our contemporary artists of the word: rappers. That is what this piece is: a theatrical look and an aesthetic reflection on the foundational work of Western literature through the language of rap and hip-hop culture.</p>
