Un helado con sabor sendero

Abstract

<p>Fermín Jiménez Landa ha creado para Prototipoak el proyecto <i>Un helado sabor sendero </i> conformado en torno a la relación entre el silfio y el hinojo.<br>Tan valiosa como el oro, la planta de silfio se atesoraba desde los principios de la antigüedad clásica como condimento, perfume, afrodisíaco y medicina. Esta planta desapareció hace dos mil años sin dejar rastro, perdiéndose para siempre un aroma y convirtiéndose en la primera especie de la historia escrita a la que la humanidad ha llevado conscientemente a la extinción.<br>En la botánica contemporánea se investigan diversas plantas buscando cuál de ellas podría ser el silfio, ya que la planta podría haber sobrevivido y podría estar escondida a la vista de todo el mundo. Este proyecto artístico se centra especialmente en el hinojo silvestre, por su condición bastarda, de mala hierba que habita en lo que Gilles Clement llamó “tercer paisaje”: los lados de los caminos, esos lugares limítrofes fruto de la indecisión humana y del azar, fuera del ordenamiento humano.</p>

<p>Fermin Jiménez Landak <i>Un helado sabor sendero</i> sortu du Prototipoak jardunaldietarako, silfioaren eta mihiluaren arteko harremanaren inguruan eratutako proiektua.<br>Urrea bezain baliotsua zen silfio-landarea; antzinate klasikoaren hasieratik gordetzen zen, ongailu, lurrin, afrodisiako eta sendagai gisa. Landarea duela bi mila urte desagertu zen arrastorik utzi gabe, eta, hala, betiko galdu zen lurrina. Gizateriak kontzienteki desagerrarazi duen historia idatziaren lehen espeziea da.<br>Botanika garaikidean, hainbat landare ikertzen dira silfioa zein izan daitekeen jakiteko, landareak bizirik iraun dezakeelako eta mundu guztiaren aurrean ezkutatuta egon daitekeelako. Proiektu artistiko honek ardatz bat du bereziki, basa-mihilua, sasikoa, belar txarra, Gilles Clementek “hirugarren paisaia” deitu zuen horretan bizi dena: bide ertzak, gizakiaren erabakiezintasunaren eta zoriaren ondoriozko leku mugakide horiek, giza ordenamendutik kanpo daudenak.</p>Sukaldaritza, botanikako ekintza entropikoa, iraungitzeak eta galerak, nekazaritza, egintza kolektiboa, hedonismoa eta beste gai batzuk uztartuz, “Un helado sabor sendero” lanak mihiluaren familiako hainbat landareren laboreak aurkezten ditu, silfio gisa proposatutakoak: Bilboko kioskoetan banatzen den basa-mihiluaren zaporeko izozki bat.

<p>Fermín Jiménez Landa has created the <i>Un helado sabor sendero</i> project for Prototipoak, based on the relationship between silphium and fennel.<br>As valuable as gold, the silphium plant was treasured since the beginning of classical antiquity as a seasoning, perfume, aphrodisiac and medicine. This plant disappeared two thousand years ago without a trace, forever losing a scent and becoming the first species in recorded history to be purposely brought into extinction by mankind.<br>In contemporary botany, research into various plants has been undertaken looking for species which could be the silphium, as the plant could have survived and could be hidden in plain sight. This artistic project focuses in the wild fennel, with its bastardised condition, a weed that inhabits what Gilles Clement called the “third landscape”, the sides of the roads, those borderline places resulting from the absence of any human decision and chance, outside of human order.</p>
