Abstract

En 1983 la autora <b>Octavia E. Butler</b> escribe el relato de ciencia ficción <b><i>Speech Sounds</i></b>, donde cuenta la historia de Rye, una mujer que intenta atravesar las veinte millas que hay hasta Pasadena entre personas cuyo único lenguaje fidedigno es el corporal, a base de gruñidos y gestos violentos, obscenos e incomprensibles. Es la historia de una enfermedad que como ataque repentino afecta a la capacidad de hablar y/o leer, escribir y razonar. Invitamos a distintas personas a leer, escuchar, interpretar, analizar, dibujar, cantar o bailar este estremecedor e inspirador texto de una autora fundamental para la ciencia ficción feminista.

Butler</b> egileak kontakizun laburrik onenari emandako Hugo sari ospetsua irabazi zuen lehenengo aldiz 1984an. Gaitz baten istorioa da kontakizuna, bat-bateko eraso bat, hitz egiteko eta/edo irakurri, idatzi eta arrazoitzeko gaitasunari erasaten diona. <b><i>Speech Sounds</i></b> is the title of a science fiction story by <b>Octavia E. Butler</b>, who won the prestigious Hugo Award for the best short story and for the first time in 1984. The story is about an illness which suddenly affects the ability to speak and/or read, write and reason. In a defeated civilisation, Butler tells the story of Rye, a woman who tries to cross the 20 miles to Pasadena among people whose only reliable form of communication is body language.
