Maryam Jafri is an artist using video, performances and photography. Having been
instructed in how to take an interdisciplinary
approach to research, her works of art are
often characterized by a visual language
somewhere between film and theatre and
a series of narrative experiments oscillating
between literature and documentaries, fragments and completeness. She has a degree in English and American literature from
Brown University and a PhD. from New York
University/Tisch School of the Arts. She also
holds the independent study programme
title from Whitney Museum. She lives and
works in New York and Copenhagen.
