Is a choreographer, she specialised in ecosystems and population dynamics at the School of Biology. She studied new dance and improvisation in the nineties and has been creating her own work since 2000. Since 2008, she has been building and co-directing Azala, the creative space and artistic residencies located in the same village where she lives in the south of Alava, Lasierra. Azala received the Gure Artea award in 2017. Since 2019, she has been part of the editorial team of Zirriborroak eta gero/ Drafts of the future and Theatres of the future, two collections of fables that imagine the future of alternatives based on specific current experiences. Since 2022 she has taken part in the feminist culture festival, Feministaldia. In 2023, the artists' cooperative Tractora published Foku 2, a look at the career of Idoia Zabaleta. As an Associated Artist at Azkuna Zentroa in 2024 and 2025, she is developing the project titled Zintza Lilura.
