Haizea Barcenilla holds a Ph.D. in Art
History, is a curator and critic. She did an
MFA in curatorship at Goldsmiths College,
London and subsequently worked as
resident curator for the Tokyo Palace
Pavilion in Paris. She is the mediator for the
‘New Patrons Project’ (www.newpatrons.
org), for which she has done the Handbook
Project in conjunction with the artist Andrea
Acosta. Her latest exhibition projects,
Historia(s) Incomparable(s) at Koldo
Mitxelena Kulturunea, San Sebastián
and Essays for the House of Memory at
Ormston House, Limerick (Rep. of Ireland),
dealing with the ways of re-thinking History,
leaving a space for memory, interpretation
and subjective experience. Barcenilla is an
associate professor at the Basque Country
University.
