SESSIONS
- #01. Rumiko Takahashi."Ranma ½" (26/10/2022) -
With Ranma 1/2, Rumiko Takahashi takes us to a world full of humour and crazy situations, where we can share the wild adventures of its protagonists in a story full of martial arts, nonsense and impossible romances.
» Recommended bibliography in the Mediateka - #02. Purita Campos. "Esther y su mundo" / Trini Tinturé. "Emma es encantadora" / Carmen Barbará. "Mary noticias" (23/11/2022) -
In this session, we highlight the work of these three authors, who, despite creating what has always been a highly specialised genre such as ‘comics for girls’, have not received the recognition they deserve for the success of their works and as pioneers in the medium.
» Recommended bibliography in the Mediateka - #03. Alison Bechdel. "Fun Home" (25/01/2023) -
Alison Bechdel's work is essential in the world of comics and within the LGTBIQ+ community due to the sincerity of her stories, her vision of life, and her ability to show us the reality of a sexuality that, until not long ago, was persecuted.
» Recommended bibliography in the Mediateka - #04. Claire Bretécher. "Agripina" (22/02/2023) -
EIn keeping with the style that the author mastered so perfectly, below are recommendations for works that use self-contained stories, humour, characters with strong projection, and regular publication as their hallmark.
» Recommended bibliography in the Mediateka - #05. Hiromu Arakawa. "Fullmetal Alchemist" (22/03/2023) -
Hiromu Arakawa's work has two characteristics: invented worlds and customs closely linked to his place of origin. The work Fullmetal Alchemist contains large doses of adventure comics that take place in worlds full of magic and fantasy.
» Recommended bibliography in the Mediateka - #06. Quino. "Mafalda" (26/04/2023) -
Quino, known worldwide for his famous character Mafalda, among other things, is characterised by his use of irony to get his message across. This list consists of recommendations of works that use humour, situations and characters to reflect social reality and human behaviour, sometimes with humour, other times with a bitter dose of cynicism.
» Recommended bibliography in the Mediateka - #07. Jaime Hernandez. "Locas" (24/05/2023) -
To round off the session, below are some recommendations for works that, like Locas, are a mixture of different genres that serve as a pretext for telling us about a variety of richly nuanced characters and their adventures and tribulations, whether in space, in a neighbourhood in Catalonia, in the suburbs of Seattle or in 1970s Japan. Because life goes on...
» Recommended bibliography in the Mediateka - #08. Posy Simmonds."Tamara Drewe" (21/06/2023) -
Like the work of Tamara Drewe itself, the following recommendations are adaptations of literary works into comics, which amply demonstrates the medium's ability to be called a graphic novel.
